MAK Family Day 2010

Family Day 2010

We got around to arrange a family day for Malaysians in Kuwait this year. The 2009/2010 Committee, with close cooperation and support of the Malaysian Embassy, have managed to put together a day to be enjoyed by all Malaysians in Kuwait. The venue for the event this year was Marah Land Park in Sabahiya. It’s a nice amusement park with open space enough to cater for events such as our family day.

Arriving early in the morning....

Setting up the breakfast buffet..

Setting up the registration table...

This year, during Family Day, we ran a membership drive as they are many new Malaysians in Kuwait who have not had the chance to register with us. The Embassy also had a registration drive for whoever that have not officially registered themselves and their family members with the Embassy…..which we think is important….have you registered with the Embassy??…yes you!!!

The door gifts..

H.E. Embassador was good enough to agree to come and  officiate our Family day. The rest of the day was filled with fun activities for both adults and kids.

Family Day Officiated...

Bouncing ball....

Baling belon air...

Cari gula-gula dlm tepung...

The food this year was excellent, the ladies in Abu Halifah got together and cooked a big buffet breakfast for everybody…of course a lot other people brought food also to the event.

The breakfast team...he he

By the end of the day, we hope that everybody had fun and get to know each other a little bit better. We would again like to offer our thanks to everybody that have directly or indirectly helped and contributed to make the Day a successful one. We also would like to extend our greatest appreciation to H.E. Dato and the Malaysian Embassy for their support and cooperation without which the Family Day this year would not have be en possible.

Terima Kaseeeehhhhh

MFO – Indoor Football Challenge

Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised an indoor footbal between the embassies in Kuwait. Pantang anak Melayu…cabar skit.. mesti masuk punya…menang kalah lain crita.

Team Malaysia..

The tourney was organised through the embassy and was held at an indoor stadium in Hawally.

The "pitch"...he he

The pitch may look small but believe you me that it hurts like a mother to even finish half time….I’m surprise they even made it full time…I guess their spirits held them up.

Letih weeeh...

However, that being said we salute them to turn up an play and ….I forgot to mention that this was during Ramadhan…..oooo patut la tak larat. Supporters was cheering on and a good number turned up to watch our team play.

Go team Malaysia...

The first match was against Turkey….tough…those guys are quite good. Plus their supporters siap bawak gendang..fuuh..

Malaysia vs Turkey

Well….in the end we lost…tough luck…we guessed mungkin sebab ada orang ponteng solat terawikh malam tu he he…..tuhan marah…anyway, our player Nabil got the an of the match…hooray for Nabil.

Man of the Match...

Kita ucapkan tahniah kepada semua participants and pemain bola yang sudi melapangkan masa dan tenaga main bola malam tu. Semuga Allah balas jasa baik anda semua.

Home Calling….

July is the height of Summer in Kuwait…well..possibly anywhere for that matter. Most of us has taken time-off either to have a brief break somewhere or going home to visit family and friends.

However, there are some of us who has answered the call to go home to Malaysia and leave us poor sods still struggling trying to survive in Kuwait.

July saw En Amran and Kak Liza’s departure from Kuwait after being here for more than 3 years. They have decided to move to better things in Malaysia and we pray for their success and well- being.

En Amran

En Amran

En Amran and Kak Liza has always been prominent and respected members of the Malaysian Community here in Kuwait and will be sorely missed. Malaysian students in Kuwait has surely lost a Godfather with En Amran’s departure from Kuwait. We were able to come together for the last time and honour them for their support and guidance to the community during their tenure in Kuwait.

This July, we also lost En Jasmin and family who have also answered the call of home after being here more than 4 years. En Jasmin and Puan Manal have decided to move to greener pastures in Malaysia. They have always been one of the pillars among Malaysian families in Kuwait and we will surely miss them and the kids. We have lost another football player and a “specialist BBQ”….moreover we will surely miss all the open houses and the makan-makan that they always do.

En Jasmin & Puan Manal

So is our life as an expat…….to both the families, we pray that you will find what your are seeking and may Allah cross our path again in life.

May Allah take care of us all
