Ramadhan Is Here

From the works of En Dasuki Mohd.
Assalamulaikum,
Alhamdullillah..Ramadhan is already here and we are still blessed to experience and to benefit from its barakah in Kuwait. We pray that Allah will allow us to continue having the barakah of Ramadhan and provide us with the strength and the will for us to realign ourselves with our religious roots and change for the better.
Ramadhan Mubarak to all….wherever you are or will be.
Home Calling….
July is the height of Summer in Kuwait…well..possibly anywhere for that matter. Most of us has taken time-off either to have a brief break somewhere or going home to visit family and friends.
However, there are some of us who has answered the call to go home to Malaysia and leave us poor sods still struggling trying to survive in Kuwait.
July saw En Amran and Kak Liza’s departure from Kuwait after being here for more than 3 years. They have decided to move to better things in Malaysia and we pray for their success and well- being.

En Amran
En Amran and Kak Liza has always been prominent and respected members of the Malaysian Community here in Kuwait and will be sorely missed. Malaysian students in Kuwait has surely lost a Godfather with En Amran’s departure from Kuwait. We were able to come together for the last time and honour them for their support and guidance to the community during their tenure in Kuwait.

This July, we also lost En Jasmin and family who have also answered the call of home after being here more than 4 years. En Jasmin and Puan Manal have decided to move to greener pastures in Malaysia. They have always been one of the pillars among Malaysian families in Kuwait and we will surely miss them and the kids. We have lost another football player and a “specialist BBQ”….moreover we will surely miss all the open houses and the makan-makan that they always do.

En Jasmin & Puan Manal
So is our life as an expat…….to both the families, we pray that you will find what your are seeking and may Allah cross our path again in life.
May Allah take care of us all

Farewell Get-Together For Nik Joharris & Family
We held a farewell get-together on 09 April 2009 for En Nik Joharris and his family who are relocating to Bahrain. Jo & Cha have been among the key members of the Malaysian Community in Kuwait and one of the few who represents Malaysian in the financial industry in Kuwait. Their two boys, Adam & Arman are also two of the most visible boys around the embassy during the weekend gathering.

MAK Bowl 2009
The bowling event went down as planned…to our surprise a lot more people signed up on the day itself…smashing babey…..altogether we had 38 participants of which 23 Men, 9 Women and 6 Juniors. H.E. Dato’ Ashaary also managed to steal some time in his busy schedule to participate in this event.
Well…what can we say?…The place was great…Cozmo in Salmiya City Center was an ideal place to hold this….especially when its still early opening time when the crowd haven’t arrived yet. It’s on the first floor, next to the food court and also next to the kids entertainment center.

Cozmo entrance...from the inside...he he

..Pool area..

Drink station..

Cozmo..early minutes of opening
The counter-staff was also very helpful to the partipants and En. Nik Joharris was working really hard to make sure that partipants are grouped together in the right lanes so that no one would have to wait unnecessarily…well done mate…

Hmm....now let me see....
There were many rusty bowlers that day….but after a few throws…the natural instinct start to come back….strike ahooyy….well at least save with a spare. However, for some such like the writer….the skill never came back..welll…probably because it’s there in the first place…..aaaaanyway….the main thing was that everybody had fun. Below are some action shots…

Eeeeyahhh....

Zoey..one of our junior bowlers

"Kak Sham" in action...
In the end…it was David who came out as the one with the highest score from the two frames that we played. As for the ladies, Kak Ina stole the day and for the junior category, Amsyar came out as having the highest score. We hope everybody had a good time and insyaallah we’ll get together again for another round.

H.E Dato' with the bowlers...
